Il Castello has to be one of the best Italian restrants in Scotland. I have been there many times and the experiance is always very engoyable. The prices are always very resonable and I always seem to leave with a full tummy.

I recently dinned at Il Castello and had a wonderful experience! Having travelled extensively around Italy I must say that the food was delicious, fiercely rivaling some of Itay's finest restaurants. The portions were also plentiful and the service friendly. Fantastic for anyone in search of some fine traditional Italian food in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

maybe i m unlucky,but i had the worst experience of my life eating at the castello .we booked a month in advance to make sure a nice table will be kept for us.but we end up between the toilet and kitchen door.the food was awfull every thing was fried and greasy not really reflecting the healthy italian food!the service was unfriendly and the bill very hard to swallow!

A visit to Il Castello is always the hightlight of any of our trips to Edinburgh, whether just a romantic break for the two of us or with the kids. An extensive menu with more than the usual Italian fayre(although they are on the menu and delicious). Great family atmosphere, unless the hen parties are in! Very friendly staff are the finishing touch to a great night out. Highly recommended.
