Great Wall Chinese Restaurant

We arrived as a party of 5 without a booking on Mothers' Day. It was busy but we were given a tabel quickly and the food also arrived pretty quickly. It was all delicious. Will definitely go back.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming, food always arrive really quickly. I have to say the dim sum is very tasty, one of the best in Edinburgh. One negative comment is the soya sauce is rather sweet, and when it is quiet the staff just stand there and that can be a little uncomfortable.

I highly recommend the dim sum!

Not an experience I will be repeating.

Arrived early evening to find only one other table occupied. Placed our food order and waited 1 hour for it to arrive. They put the poor service down to being busy due to the chinese new year - I found this strange given we were the 2nd customers in that evening. Oh and this was after being told the £5 hors d'ovres starter could not be shared between 2. If we wanted to share it, we'd need to buy 2 - a little strange I thought.

When we waited a further 15 mins for them to clear our starter plates and tell us our main course would be arriving shortly, we decided enough was enough and decided to leave.

When we complained to the manager he was abrupt and ushered us toward the door so that we weren't able to make a scene.

Needless to say, we did not pay for the food we did eat.

Shocking all round and I'll never be back.

Don't go, you have been warned.
