i've ate at La Partenope restaurant many times and each time i go the quality of the food improves, with a different menu each week you never get bored of going, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. A brilliant atmosphere and great way to spend a night out. Fresh seafood delivered daily, and the great selection of wine which is NOT found in a local supermarket for £2.98! and to top it all of delicious desserts homemade, i would recommend the tiramisu.

I have eaten here several times over the last few years and generally found it good however after a recent visit I was very disappointed. I had arranged to visit on a Friday night with a party of four and after numerous requests for the "normal" menu which is on display in front of the restaurant I was told that this menu was not available at weekends-only the "Specials" one was on (I suspect they are contravening the Trade Descriptions Act)
Needless to say the "Specials" menu had most items at twice the price of the normal one & I found this frustrating. In the past I have been able to mix & match from the specials & the normal one but this time I was left feeling duped. Additionally up until recently I noticed that their house wine Multipulchiano (approx £14) is the one exact same available for sale at the nearby supermarket (for £2.98) . Me thinks the proprietors have become rather too greedy........I will not be returning again

La Partenope is unique, I`d heard good reports and consequently expected it to be pricer than it was, It was actually very good value for money, the perect plave forany occasion, the food is fantastic it`s fresh and full of flavour.
Fantastic food prob one of the best places in Edinburgh, lovely staff very attentive with out seeming obtrusive, the wine list superband, quality of the food as good as any top Restaurant. pleasant highly recommended. *Good Value & Great Food *

hi
I went to la partenope with my 10 year old son. the waiter was quite offhand. I asked for a seafood starter which was very good value at £7.50 and delicious. I asked the waiter if they did pizza (for my son) which wasn't on the menu he gave us (and we were going to leave because m,y son wanted pizza) and he said yes. I said how much for a small marguerita and he said "not very much". It was like he couldn't be bothered to go and get the menu. NB There is no children's menu. When the bill came it was £6.10 for a small not particularly good pizza. for a 10 year old. When I queried it he said £6.10 is cheap. His attitude was very much that he didnt care how I felt and dint take any responsibility for not knowing the price of the food in his restaurant. I felt so offended that I definitely wont be going there again - which is a shame cos the seafood was great.

I was at this restaurant for the first time yesterday. The meal was for a local charity, Waverley Care Trust, and the food and wine plus some auction items were donated by the owners. The staff also donated their time. The food was excellent and the staff attentive, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the dishes served.
I'll be going back again...
