The Glasshouse at Eskmills

The food in here is decent enough for the money. The service is terrible. I visited here just after opening and the service was horrendous, and one year on it's even worse. The very young inexperienced staff are polite enough, they are just not attentive. Very long wait to order (even a drink) and 25 mins after asking to see the dessert menu I was still waiting. Drinks during meal were over 10mins after ordering and it was not even busy.

The building is good quality, they really should specify if you are not actually eating in the "glasshouse" in my opinion. This time we were in the bar! The toilets had paper towels strewn over the floor, is it to much for them to be checked every hour? I believe even McDonalds do that!

The decent quality food / decor is seriously let down by poor service staff.

I have to say I like this place and attend regularly. By far the nicest restaurant in Musselburgh or the surrounding area. Quality food ,a great wine list and a lovely setting.

I have no complaints.

We had to wait 5 weeks to get a booking in this restaurant and quite frankly I wonder why I even bothered. Lacklustre service

(the fact that we had to wait until halfway through our main course before we even got a sniff of the wine we had ordered) along with mediocre food did not add up to the fine dining experience The Glasshouse purports itself to be. Very disappointing. There are far to many good restaurants around for us to consider going out of our way to return.
