It seems bizarre what Peter below is saying as i was there on the weekend and the atmosphere was exceptional, the restaurant was very busy yet the service and the food was also up to excellent standards. i will definitely be paying another visit.

Last night my wife and I popped into Voujon on the advice of a friend. When we walked through the door we thought "pretty smart, hope the food is as good". My wife and I both felt the service and food was poor and when we realised who owned the restaurant we understood why. Assorted kebabs were warmed up in a microwave and left for too long - inedible. Jal Buhna, you are joking; the chicken had only met the source a few minutes earlier; very bland. I don't know what the rest of the reviewers do for Asian food, but there are so many great Asian restaurants in Edinburgh why go to Voujon?

Last weekend my wife and I enjoyed an exquisite meal at Voujon. Everytime I walked past, it has always been fully packed and so I am glad that I made a booking in advance. The food and service was excellent and I am looking forward to my next visit.

My visit to Voujon was exceptional and I was really happy that I had booked in advance. The meal was exquisite and the presentation was really good that I felt wrong in tucking in but the smell of the food overcame me that I could not resist.

The service was prompt and the waiters were attentive and helpful, overall a good night

We have visited Voujon on several ocassions over the past year or so and have always been extremely happy with the food and service. We have also recommended the Voujon to many friends who have visited and been very impressed, many revisiting several times.

We visited again recently with our daughter but this time was dissapointing. We ordered starters and main courses and, as usual, the food was excellent. Unfortunatley the service was not. For drinks, we ordered wine, beer and a jug of water. Our wine and beer was served promptly but no jug of water. We asked again for a jug of water but still we did not get it. When our main course was served we only got one dish of rice when we had ordered 2. When we pointed this out we did get our other dish of rice but still not a jug of water. When we finished our main course we were asked about 4 times if we wished to order anything else. This made us feel uncomfortable. We had the table for approximately 80 minutes early evening and we felt we were being harrassed to vacate the table although there were other tables vacant.

We are very disappointed and will seriously consider returning to the Voujon in the future. We also feel we cannot now recommend it to others and it is such a shame as it is a very nice restaurant and the food is great.
