First Coast

I've been to First Coast at least half a dozen times over several years (including as part of a large party at Christmas, which is often when standards in many restaurants drop) and always find the food excellent, giving good value for money. I've always found the staff pleasant and helpful and overall couldn't fault the place. It's on my list for somewhere to go if I want to guarantee a consistently good meal. Good wine list too.

My husband and l have wanted to try this restaurant for some time, l'm afraid it was the worst restaurant meal l`ve ever had, the food itself was disappointing l very think the foods with a number of cheap and frozen ingredients representing value for money ,

This has got to the worst restaurant experience l have ever, the staff were very unfriendly, standing around doing nothing shocking, absolutely, appalling the food was terrible, tasteless and will not be going back.

Disagree completely with previous email, have been coming to this restaurant since it opened and it's one of Edinburgh's best bistro/restaurants. Have taken friends and they have returned. They must be doing something right, as it's always busy! Good food, great value (especially lunch and early evening menus), where else can you eat freshly prepared food for under a tenner on a Friday evening in Edinburgh. Menu changes every week, and the chef is never scared to try something different! Good wine list competitively priced. Staff very friendly and attentive, always ready to please. And one thing more, in my opinion they make the best chips in the city!

I was there a week ago ,it was bad the food ranged from bland and boring through disgusting to downight inedible,tasted like very cheap sausage meat,the worst meal i have ever had,ihave had better food for £2.99 in a greasy spoon,bad attitude,i would strongly advise going else where -certainty no one from our group will be returning to this poor excuse for a restaurant,i wouldnt even leave a 1p tip service sucks.
