Agreed. Very reliable varied menu, good wine list and (a rarity) good coffee. Not cheap but still good value. One of our favourite lunch spots - always a good choice to take visitors if you are doing a gallery too.
Always book ahead and ask for a window table - there are only six or seven but turns a good lunch into a great experience. A must for people watchers!

This is one of my favourite restaurants. The Gallery in Edinburgh never disappoints. I had the fixed price lunch menu which was excellent value without compromising on quality. The starter of cheese and onion tartlet was particularly full of flavour.
