Tucked away in an atmospheric cobbled street the restaurant is small, beautifully decorated in an "old bistro" style reminiscent of turn of the century Paris.
The menu is ,thankfully, concentrated on a few dishes for each course rather than a laundry list of items you know the kitchen can't possibly master. We had some excellent smaked salmon;a refreshing cool pea soup;and a "broth" of linguini and pork for our starters. All were delicious;fresh and perfectly executed.Mains included a fantastic slow cooked braised skirt steak with that gummy slightly sweet sauce that comes from hours of slow cooking;an excellent roast slab of cod with crunchy vegetables and a silky mashed potato that tasted of real potato.
Desserts included an Eton berry mess and selection of cheese which was excellent.
This is a great place and they have a well chosen wine list.
