A visit to Champany has been our little treat to ourselves on a day-off-lunchtime for a number years. Avoiding the Chop & Ale House, the main restaurant is, regardless of your choice of menu, a haven of unerring quality, discreet attentiveness and peace. That peace has only once been spoiled by braying 'chavs'-on -expenses'. But then you cannot choose your clientele.....

The 'quick lunch' menu is both financially economical and extravagant in its simple content. The Champany salad of leaves, bacon & chicken livers would set you up for a week, while the mains, rib of beef, salmon, or chicken breast are far from plain. Don't overlook the home-baked bread either.

Having been entertained to the main menu at lunch time, we can say the same attentiveness was not overstated nor the food over-complicated.

Seek out this sample of Scottish hospitality at its best just off the M9 - by the way, we don't have shares, the Davidsons are not family, nor do we want a discount off our next meal!
