i would totally disagree with the first review about chop chop !

this resaurant came highly recommended to me, and its one of these places that once you have been on recommendation - you end up telling anyone who listens that they MUST go there !!!

the food is spectacular, if you love dumplings then you're in for a treat as they make up a large part of the menu. there are no 'usual' chinese meals like lemon chicken - but its such a good thing because there is apparantly so much more to chinese food than the westernised offerings on standard menus.

alongside the delicious dumplings, i thoroughly enjoyed the matchstick potatoes and the northern sticky chicken dish - absolutely stunning. the noodles (peanut and mustard in particular) were amazing too.

puddings were also superb - sweet peanut dumplings left me with the desire to go back the next again day (but i didn't !) and the unusual sugarstring dishes were great too.

I took my parents who are avid chinese food lovers like myself, and they too have been raving about it to all. the owner is out on the floor every evening talking to guests and making you feel comfortable.

you have to look beyond the basic interior, and realise that an excellent restaurant is more about the quality of the food than the paintings on the wall. i would also disagree about portions being small - we shared the majority of our dishes amoungst 4 and had food left ! you can also choose between portion sizes and i would say the whole meal was very very reasonable.

i would recommend anyone who loves chinese food to chopchop to chop chop !!!!

i hate when a table at a restaurant is sticky and unclean and that is the fact at chop chop. When you have to ask for someone to wipe the tables thats not a good sign.

The waiter took extra long to serve us and the boss was

'entertaining' his friends. When i asked when we would get served he looked annoyed and was rude. Then we had to wait forever for the bill and it wasn't even busy! 2 tables!!!

The food however was okay, portions are rather small, wouldn't go back even though the dumplings were quite tasty
