Loch Fyne

My sister and I were looking forward to a meal at Loch Fyne but we had a very disappointing experience. The restaurant is in such a wonderful setting but even that did not make up for the poor service and below average main courses.
We had difficulty placing our order - one member of staff had a very lengthy conversation with her friends at a nearby table and then walked past us so we had to then draw her attention to us. We waited over 30mins for our starters which were exactly as decsribed with no garnish or even a slice of rustic bread to accompany the 3 pieces of smoked salmon described as an ashet of salmon. We then had a further delay for our main courses. The risotto had an undercooked poached egg which when I pointed out to a "waiter" he replied "I don't know what to do about that" I requested he took it back to the kitchen, the second attempt had a bullet in place of an egg. Again we could not attract anybody's attention so I went in search of the manager. He was very apologetic and removed my plate and replaced it with a completely fresh risotto and egg. The smoked haddock risotto was very salty with very little flavour - my 11 year old son makes a better risotto. My sister's caeser salad was over powered by too many spring onions and had large lumps of stale bread posing as croutons.
In fairness to the manager he did adjust our bill but we certainly didn't wait for anything after the mains and we will not be rushing back.
